Social Integration Services (SIS) Program

The ACCESS Centre's Social Integration Program is designed for adults with special needs, such as intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities or behavioral problems. The program functions in part as an ordinary classroom, with daily instruction on traditional subjects such as English, mathematics and art. However, students also learn more practical life skills, such as learning to cook and follow a recipe, using a dishwasher, a washing machine and drying machine. They also learn to develop social skills such as the skills to make friends, as well as problem-solving skills.

School program

Students take courses four days a week, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There are no classes on Wednesdays, as this day is reserved for "knowledge transfer," where students are encouraged to practice what they have learned, applying their new skills acquired outside of school. For example, students can spend Wednesdays volunteering.
